Anna and Stephanie - LGTBQ Weddings in Pittsburgh - Kukucka Photography
It's been a while since I photographed a wedding here in Pittsburgh. I tend to do more LGBTQ and non-traditional weddings these days, and I love the personal touches I see at these events.
Stephanie and Anna's wedding at James Gallerywas no exception, as the theme of their ceremony and celebration was bridges. Not just because the wedding was held in Pittsburgh, the city of bridges - but rather to recognize the bridges it sometimes takes our hearts, to meet in a place where there is only love. I thought it was a lovely gesture, and so did everyone there.
Some favorite moments from this wedding: I loved the difference between Anna and Stephanie's personalities, with Anna being more of an extrovert, and Stephanie being a bit shy in comparison. The place they meet together is such a lovely combination of playfulness, adoration and respect. It was a pleasure to witness. I loved their first look at Station Square - and the fact that although people were walking about, they only saw each other. I loved the toasts. I loved the friendships. I loved the food. I loved the cookie table. I loved the bridge that they created for their families, just by being who they are - and I love that they are adored by those families. Easy to see why.
Thank you for the honor of being your photographer, Stephanie and Anna. I'll always remember your playfulness and your spark. I know the world is a better place because you're together.
Special thanks to Jaclyn Miller, wedding planner extraordinaire - and to Chef Kate Romane, at Black Radish Kitchen. In over 10 years of photographing weddings, I've never had such incredible food. And to James Gallery, for being such a cool place to have a wedding.
