Jamie and Howard
If I was the mother of Jamie or Howard I would feel incredibly proud of what good hearted men they turned out to be. They both have a Cary Grant kind of charm and together they are their best, and it shows. Jamie is sexy and cute and crazy in love with Howard. Howard is handsome, a bit rugged in a gentle way, and crazy in love with Jamie.
Jamie and Howard decided to have their long awaited wedding at the Pittsburgh William Penn Omni, where we were able to have a sweet little engagement session the day before the wedding. I had never done this before and I loved having the time to connect further with this extraordinary couple just before their wedding. It made it easy to get caught up in the excitement of it all, which joyfully carried into the next day.
Some favorite moments from this wedding: In my lifetime I have been blessed with many loves. There was something about Jamie and Howard's love that kind of gathered all the very best things I have loved about love and being in love. It was beyond the tenderness with which they treated each other or even the glance or nod that I happened to witness between them. It was an atmosphere - an energy, and it was lovely. I loved the magic of the ceremony, the ring of fire and the blessings beautifully conveyed by Rev. Dina McGee at Soulful Commitment. I loved the sweet first dance, the reverent and supportive guests, the darkly lit evening, and most of all, the sheer joy that Jamie and Howard experienced that night, whether quietly in each others arms or dancing wildly to a favorite song, thanks to PJ the DJ who kept this fun group on the dance floor all night. (The Max Leake trio performed during dinner at this beautifully lavish event, designed by Joe Mineo at Something New.) Truly, it was all so beautiful and elegant, which was another favorite thing about this wedding!
Jamie and Howard, I wish you a lifetime of glances, nods, and the sweetness of such a solid and safe love together. You both not only deserved to find it, but to find it in each other. Thank you for the privilege of being a witness to it.
