Adam and Mike - Consol Energy Center - Same Sex Weddings in Pittsburgh

Adam and Mike
Adam and Mike met at a hockey tournament that they were both playing in a few years back. Mike (who is from Pittsburgh) noticed that Adam was wearing a Penguins shirt, and it gave him an excuse to talk to him. How appropriate that they would be married last week at the Consol Energy Center, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins!
I have to admit that this is the first time I ever heard "I promise not to drop my hockey stick on the ice anymore" as part of someone's vows, but it suited this fun and easy going couple perfectly - though I've watched a few hockey games and I would imagine that it might be easier to promise the old "in good times and bad, sickness and health ... " deal. I'm just sayin ... :)
Some favorite moments from this wedding: Adam's emotion during his vows (might have been the part about the hockey stick ...) - witnessing their absolute thrill at being permitted on the ice at the Consol Center - their wonderful affection with their niece and nephews and how they never tired of holding a hand or sharing a hug no matter what else was going on - the celebration of Mike's HUGE Italian family, as well as all of their guests - the cake table, which was the downfall of yet another diet - and most of all, the way Adam made it clear all day that even after all their years together, he still had a major crush on his handsome husband.
Special thanks to Anna at the Consol Energy center / Lexus Club for doing an outstanding job and for being so kind and friendly in the process.
Thank you for entrusting such a special day to my care, Adam and Mike. It was an honor. Here are a few of my favorites ...
